Play your part in preventing the spread of Covid-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has proven to be incredibly difficult to combat for health authorities and governments worldwide. There is currently no vaccine for Covid-19, so the best way to avoid infection is to avoid exposure to the virus. There is plenty of evidence to show that prevention measures are making a significant difference in reducing the number of cases. However, we have seen the resurgence of Covid-19 in several regions forcing counties and towns in Ireland, Britain and Australia to go back into lockdown. That is why it is vital that each individual continues taking responsibility for their health and safety in this challenging time. Those of you in the building construction industry need to remain vigilant to protect your health and well being as well as your colleagues, clients, families and the wider community.
We ask you to continue best practices on site which include the following:
- Wash hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water (or hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol). Allow at least 20 seconds for this.
- When you have to cough or sneeze use a tissue and dispose of tissues safely, or use the bend of your elbow to cover your mouth and nose.
- Maintain social distancing on site by staying at least 2 metres apart wherever possible.
- Regularly wipe down and sanitize frequently used work surfaces and equipment.
- If you experience Covid-19 symptoms do not attend the site. Contact your GP by phone or email for medical advice and self-isolate for 14 days.

- Dry Cough
Other Symptoms May Include
- Aches and pains
- Nasal congestion
- Headache
- Conjunctivitis
- Sore throat
- Diarrhea
- Loss of taste or smell
- A rash on skin or discoloration of fingers or toes.
Note: Symptoms vary from person to person. Some people who become infected may display only mild symptoms.
